Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review
The exceptional Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is powered by the latest Android Honeycomb is lighter and a bit thinner than the Apple iPad 2. Compared to Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is 0.2mm thinner, 36g lighter. It has a smaller footprint than either the Motorola Xoom or the Acer Iconia Tab A500, which are more substantial than most tablets on the market.
The gadget just feels perfect. Distinct from the Acer Iconia A500 and the Motorola Xoom, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 seesthat ideal balance between a pick-up-and go e-book reader such as the Amazon Kindle 3 and a 10-inch tablet that's fantastic for enjoying movies on a long trip.
The built-in Android Honeycomb version 3.1 includes a few brand new additions. You can resize widgets and scroll through open apps in the pop-up thumbnails for the "recent apps" list. Unfortunately Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn't take advantage of the new Android 3.1 feature to support USB-connected peripherals.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 3MP rear camera, which is three times higher than the Apple iPad 2's camera. There's also a front-facing 2MP camera. The Galaxy Tab features a 1280 x 800 PLS display, it boosts of 1GB RAM.
iPad 2 has 6600mAh battery built-in while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 7000mAh battery. It is able to last about nine hours for everyday tasks, music playback, internet surfing, playing videos, etc.
Galaxy Tab supports full HD video playback (1080p), up to 30fps, video codec such as WMV9, WMV7, WMV8, h.264, MPEG4, Xvid, DivX, H.263, VP8. Compatible audio formats are MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+,WMA,RA.
